Suspension build out

Just called Hellwig, they don't sell the mount separately from their sway bar. Too bad because it looks like it would be perfect for me. I found this post over on ForABodies.

If you can wait a few weeks, I'll have those brackets off my car and you can have them. I have some mystery sway bar, and I went full on QA1. Just waiting to install it. I'll also have those rubber bushings and everything you would need to attach it.

But you have to remember that if you using a stock sway bar, those mounted to the lower control arm and will not work with the L bracket. Which goes back to the beginning of me saying that your sway bar may not work at all now, due to the lower arms you bought.

They are a simple L bracket, get some 1/8" or 3/16" strip steel, lay it over a vise and beat it into an L shape, drill 2 holes and your done.

Let me try and simplify your solutions. I'm assuming your using a stock sway bar here.

Buy QA1 K member + Sway bar (E body)
Buy Hellwig Sway Bar.
Re use old lower control arms(rebuild them) and bolt current sway bar on.
Buy a 70 and up K member, still need the Qa1 or E body sway bar though.

I think that's all of your options at this point. If you want to use your current sway bar.

If you have the old lower arms, I would mock up the sway bar mounts and see if your current sway bar attaches on the old lower arm bracket, or IF you had L bracket on the lower shock mount, which one would work?

It looks like the drop end links will work with my sway bar/shock mount location. I remembered that I had these ugly things and did a rough mock up of the spacing.

Then I ordered a set of energy suspension end links off Amazon for $20. If that doesn't work then I will switch over to a Hotchkis Sway bar as that seems to be the most economical fix.

The Hotchkis sway bar bolts to factory location on lower arm. So that is not an option.

The Hellwig bar is alot cheaper than the Hotchkis.

Ok. Update. I mocked up the sway bar using energy end links. It looks very close to the nut on the strut. Not sure how close is too close. Also, this is in the air so not sure how the geometry will change when it's sitting on all fours.

Also, all my boots are super squished. Should I have filled them with grease prior to tightening? Only bolts I have torqued right now are the upper and lower ball joints.

I just torqued my uppers and lowers they're the same all squished and outta shape I'm assuming they'll comeback when filled with grease

I wanted to put a top on the thread. I was able to use my stock sway bar and the QA1 lowers by mounting the sway to the shock bolt and using Energy Suspension end links, #9.8118g.

Barely clears the strut nut but it is fine.

I had it professionally aligned and toughened. Everything handles awesome now.
