Swedish 1969 Roadrunner

with your car not starting except in neutral, check your neutral safety switch on the side of the tranny. (automatic).

Slow progress here, ordered a set of sealed beam conversions and also a pretty nifty relay holder

I feel like im slow every week but, its still fun, All this slow will disappear once were done, heck, take your time and enjoy it, a couple parts today and some more next week, soon we have a whole beast... runnin the streets!!!

Next question :) is there anything you can tighten up if your steering wheel is loose before actually pulling the steering box and refurbish that? I see the column with coupler moving just where it goes into the box. Any adjustments you can do? Grease to fill?

The proper way to adjust it is to firs adjust the worm gear, which is adjusted by the "castle ring" (I don't remember what it is officially called). This encircles your input shaft to your steering box. After the worm gear is adjusted, then you adjust the slop out of it by using the adjustment at the top. It is a hex bolt with a lock nut around it.

The above is a pretty lousy description - but look in the FSM or on the internet and I am sure you will get a more detailed description...

Sharp looking car! Good luck with your upgrades. Interesting that is has GTX/Sport Satellite Tail Light's. Never the less, pretty dang nice, wheels look great with that color combo.

Hmm, as a complete newbie on b-bodies - it does? How to tell? Here's a better picture of the rear

Good luck hope to meet you in Västeras next year

Of course we will - stop by and say hello. Usually not parked in the Mopar section though but rather around the center show area.

After some google image search - it seems apparent that I have the GTX tail lights... Dunno why they put that on. I fear that the paint under the bezel don't look that good so I'll wait until respray to fit correct lights on it.

And another shot that shows the tail

Here's a roadrunner tail light housing. The buckets are not as deep as the GTX/Sport Satellite.

Yours look like they're in excellent shape. I would imagine you could easily sell/trade those, if you wanted to go with the roadrunner style. Like mentioned, car looks great either way.

They are in excellent shape, small chrome loss on one on the inside, maybe 1/3 x 1/16 of an inch along the inner side of them.

I will put them up for sale when it's time for respray because I don't know what the paint look under the bezel. So you think they are possible to sell or trade?

So you think they are possible to sell or trade?

Oh Definitely! Those are more rare than the standard satellite or roadrunner housing's/lens's, and yours are in excellent shape. Good news is that decent set of road runner tail light's are not very hard to find. You can also buy them brand new if you want. Several places sell them.

I love the rim tire on car..What size front rear.? sweet looking R/R

18 up front with 225 and 20 rear with 305s

Then it all comes down to what the paint looks like under the bezels. Thanks for the heads up though! I wouldn't have caught that myself ;)

Question though, when I look at yearone repros of the RR tail lights it states that they don't fit the GTX body - but they are interchangeable the other way around - or has there been work done to the body as well you think?

Hey no problem! The lenses and the tail light bezel's are different between the GTX and Roadrunner. The quarter panel extensions that the lights are housed in are the same between the two. If converting back to the roadrunner style you will need both the bezel's and lenses.

New question - Valve covers - are they fastened with 7 ft lbs torque?

Also started building a relay harness with a relay box today

And when removing the ugly faked steel covered hose from the radiator of course this happened

Last - Summit racing delivered an expansion tank for the coolant and a new check valve for brake booster (where the valve was a) wrong size b) made of cheap plastic and c) leaking)

Question: The bulkhead connectors were lost sometime back in the days when they re-did the wires. Now there's individual cables to each headlight, probably to keep current drop down, but no relays. I've added relay harness (above) so question is what to do with the second cable? I could either cut it at firewall and then just run one cable to low beam relay and one cable to high beam relay or run both and connect them both to the relay. What would you do?
