Received the "fits all" trim clips today. The original ones were just too far gone to reuse. Thought I would try these instead of hunting all over the place.

Just mark them, take your pliers and break them off. It takes a little effort.

I rounded the corners so they won't dent the edge of the trim when you tighten them down.

Ordered a board headliner from Collectorsautosupply. They are made by REM. I contacted REM and they sent me some actual pictures of the board. They were a bit more in price so I ordered it from Collectors.

Here's a thread that @MW 413 started. It should resemble his.

http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/hard-board-headliner.141612/

Talked to a local upholstery guy that I've known for awhile. I'm going to take my seats to him to discuss just what we need to do to get the right material and carpet. He said once he has the material he could start on them the first of January.

The driver side is the worst but we have some good patterns. Them seats are heavy!

Removed all of the trim and hardware. The seat tracks are different between the two.

Ordered some rust incapsulator from eastwood to do the headliner area and rear inside quarters where you can't reach. It's available in grey.

I backed it out this past weekend and gave her a good warm up. Added some 100 octane to the tank for the winter months coming up.

Hey KK I don't know whether I'd use any encapsulator ,I'd worry it could trap any moisture.Hard to see any of it getting worse if you garage your car and leave it 'air' out?

I used it inside of the cowling. Not being blasted to bare metal, I wanted to seal it and that's what it's designed to do. It has to be sanded to a point so there isn't any loose rust. Really worked good.

Well for the last two months I haven't done much on the '62. December was rather busy with the holidays. Also like January, the temps outside have been averaging 20's and 30's, too cold for the heater that I have in the garage, to keep up.

We had some above normal weather, 1st week in January. With the headliner out, I had to fix some dents at the rear of the roof. Looked like someone stacked some 2x4s on top at one time.
Useing a small bottle jack and a lenth of 2x2, I jacked them out. Turned out fairly well.

I ordered the materials needed for upholstery. Waiting on that, I lost my spot with the upholstery shop to do the work in December.

I ordered a hardboard headliner. It wasn't made right and had to wait on another one to be made. Also one piece was damaged in shipping.

Ordered precut headliner insulation just to find out that it's wrong. Still waiting on a answer about that. Not even close.

I have spent some time scraping and sanding inside the roof of the car. Yesterday it got up to the mid 40's so I moved the car outside in order to paint what I had prepped. Moved it back in and cranked up the heat.

Now it's back to the sub freezing temps again. Looks like it going to stay for awhile.

My interior guy does house calls. He has my door panels and seat covers, just have to finalize the embroidery design.

Very interesting build thread! That is really amazing I will use your tips and tricks for sure while reassembling my bird!
Thanks for sharing all of your knowledge! :)

Keep up with that awesome work!

I have been finding some time to get back on the interrior. Temps have been above normal, today and tomorrow are in the low seventies!

When it was too cold to get the shop heated I did some work on the headliner on the dining room table. Glueing the missing corners on, I did use some flat white filler in the seam but didn't take a pic yet. With the upholstery and the trim on both sides, just a little bit will show

Warming up in the shop I sanded, prepped and painted the rear glass seal. (Hard on the knees!)

I removed the quarter windows, (two nuts and lift out) to clean the inside of that area and lube up the regulators. The edge where the wiskers go need a little primer and paint too before installing them.

Also the outer fender edges were dented with a bumper from another vehicle at some time, both sides. Had a crowbar in there and couldn't quite get it, so the old sliding hammer had to do. Weld the holes shut and a skim coat.

Did you glue corners to headliner laying on cardboard? If it stuck the way to prevent it from sticking is to put a piece of waxed paper between headliner and cardboard.

Today got up to 70* so I took advantage of the heat and installed the insulation that I ordered from Home Depot.

Damn stuff really sticks. I marked center on the roof and on each piece to line it up when installing. You only get one shot at it. Turned out ok.

Tomorrow I'll get back on the quarters and get that painting done before installing any headliner board.

Coming along nicely!! I will take advantage of this heat wave and spend some time at the garage

I used a piece of non corrugated, thin but strong cardboard for a backer to join the two pieces. Used a clear two part epoxy to knit all three pieces together. I coated both sides of every piece. Luckily nothing oozed out on the cardboard.

Oh, I took the front seats and the material to a upholster last week! Their shop is 30 min. away They were going to start on them the next day.

I think it’s kind of interesting that your package tray area has 3 speaker holes. My 63, 64, and 65 Plymouths all have only 1 speaker hole in the center. This from an era that only mono radios were offered. I would guess that it would have been the late 60’s before Chrysler offered stereo radios.

Apparently 1952 was the first am/fm. 1963 was the first solid state, doing away with tubes and 1969 was supposedly the first stereo offered in cars.

I remember in the mid seventies when FM stations were first coming around our area. Then buying a FM converter so you could tune them in.

The package tray also has what appears to be a long slot for a defroster.
