ive got no movement on the tempeture gauge, how do you test the sending unit and gauge to tell where the problem is?

thanks in advance for any help

take the wire that goes to the temp sending unit and put it to ground... it should peg the gauge to fully hot. if this does not happen the gauge is bad or there is an open in the wire somewhere.

the i grounded it and no action....
ill trace the wire and test it later.
If the gauge is bad is it replacable without replacing the whole gauge cluster or do i have to replace the whole thing?
I saw one on ebay and it looks like the cluster is all one piece.

You can replace just the one gauge, look on ebay there are usually some good ones on there. Also, ask around to see if anyone has one on here. Most of these guys have got what you will need.
