We've been poking and prodding our combo for a few years now trying to squeeze every ounce of power from our 413 based wedge to try to get our flying brick into the tens. It proved to be harder than we originally thought and our engine builder (Dan Dvorack) hates our nose high stance and various other period correct oddities about our AWB. Tough tittys Dan, we aint changing it. Apperently a new converter built for our combo was going to be the hot ticket, coupled with a crisp morning at a legendary quick track that literally sits at sea level (unadjusted). We squeeked a 10.98 @ 119mph last Sunday morning and couldn't be happier to stop describing our car as a low 11s machine. Now we can work on micro-tuning it but for now we're just out to have fun. Also made runner up in our class as well.

Congrats on 10's in that very cool car ! Ron

Thanks all, it's been fun getting to this point and of course we will do our best to dredge out every .001 at this point. But seriously, small cube BB, heavy car and '1965 traction aid technology. We're doing alright. I could use some advice on dealing with the wicked wheel whip when the front end finally come down. Damn!!! We added a steering shock but it doesn't do too much.

Right on Pat! Its a long way to the nines but you can do it!

I wear my chupacabra shirt also congrats !!!

Thanks again folks. Slightly deeper in the tens would be nice but nines are not too realistic with this motor and dropping a ton of weight off our rig. We're happy where we're at and just really want to get out and race it more. It also cracks people up that I sleep in the back when we camp at the track.
