Tried different setups from the setup where I ran 10.06 and10.04 but none of these other setups were and improvement to my setup (chassis) where I posted the 10.04 and 10.06....but that what test & tune weekends are for.How did the weekend finish up
Don’t I remember us all going over this last fall; you saying that Calvert had suggested the full loose setting and many of us questioning that advice?? Glad to hear it’s hooking & booking!!best yesterday of 10.047 and 10.065 with 1.37 60 foot's . I tightened the shocks up from full loose (zero) to 6. IT WORKED! !!
Cal Trac Tech says 0, 1,2, or 3 extension setting for Trans Brake.Wishing I was headed that way.... March Meet participation is on the bucket list for sure! We’re a month away from Pacific being open.

The softest setting worked perfect for me until I took around 100lbs out of the trunk area...then the tires broke loose with that setting.
Set the Extension on 6 and car hooked and ran 10.04 and 10.06.
Prior run to these two runs is where I had 92lbs of ballast in the trunk and shocks set on 0 and the car ran its normal 10.15 ET.
Took out the 92lbs, set the shocks on 6 and it went the 10.04 and 10.06.
The faster ET was because the car was almost 100lbs lighter and the shocks set on 6 allowed the car to "hook" with the lighter weight.

It's nice to see you get that 10.04 Mike. Very darned good job! I'm sure that you will find that .04 with further tuning. Never forget that it wasn't very long ago and your goal was 10.50's.
If you happen to contact Calvert and share with them how you got the car to hook (stiff shock settings) we'd love to hear the response.
When I went through that and informed Calvert that stiff shocks is what settled my car down the reply I got was more less, nope, had to be something else, yada yada.
From my personal experience with the calvert system is seems that you get to that point and you cross the line, then you need to start stiffening things up. Numerous FAST fellows told me "yep, we've all been there. Time for better shocks, re-valving, shock mount maintenance is needed to run calvert /cal tracs, but they are good for as fast as 9.0".
It will be interesting to see the difference now that my car is on ladder bars. I've got a couple of sets of older tires to finish off first, which could affect improved time and ET to start off. Having said that, the crazy separation that I was dealing with should be a thing of the past too.
FYI: My Triple adjustable ladder bars are 30 lbs lighter than the calverts / cal tracs.
Good job with that 10.04 Mike! I've now got some work to do to better that!
