I know the basic functions of it, I just have zero background in electrical systems.

Well I hope what I showed you does help somewhat to understand the basics.

There's no point getting all over-technical for a novice user.

I am willing to learn. I do thank you for the help.
I didn't know how to weld, do bodywork, paint and other stuff until I jumped in and learned on my own. I did gather advice along the way but one difference in all of those things as compared to electrical stuff is....
Electrical stuff isn't always visible.
I can see when a piston has a crack in it. I can see when a weld is good or bad.
