I was told insurance companies won't touch a car with a cage on the street! is that BS?

I told my ins co I do not race the car. Also said that the club has get togethers at a race track and we do exibition runs and the bars are required to go down the track. I am certed to 8.50
If you EVER have an........incident at the track,load your car and bring it home! There are other ways.................

Maybe. I haven’t tried yet. It might flex in the middle enough to get it up and out but it would take a couple of people to do it.

Insurance covers the sons rock crawler with full body cage. Dont know why they would not cover this on the street. Anything connected to racing or off roading hasnt been covered for decades.

Yes, existing holes. The small, rectangular ones. Not sure what they were originally for.

Thanks! I’ve had 3 passengers in the back with the old setup and they climbed over the seat bar easily. I sat back there to weld the rear bars up and it wasn’t horrible. Two people could fit back there without too much contortioning. I deleted the rear seat belts to discourage any passengers anyway lol.

Yes, I have a 25.5 cert cage in my Challenger and it is street driven. I have Grundy. They never questioned it at all.

When I did mine I cut the lower rod/wire at the bottom of the lower cushion. Then slid a a small piece of tubing over it. If the lower cushion needs to come out you can slide the tube over to one side. Then the cushion will fold some in the middle.

I have heacock and they are fine with it... They will also insure you at the drag strip in the parking lot, just not from the time your in the staging lane till you get back to return road...I was very specific when asking theses questions.
