That's a bit of a stretch...CL ad

Name only. Some will try anything to make the sale. It's pretty slick, but about two grand too much.

Is that what the world has come to. The 78 Futura? Really? Im glad i got the mopars i have for what i paid. Cause it would be impossible to get my hands on them now. I need to make sure i gold on to them real tight

How much they asking for that $500 car?

Find any car that rolls, much less this clean and drives, for sale for $500...good luck! It's easily a $3,500 to $4,500 car anywhere. Plus, all of the Fox-body mods are a bolt-in on the Fairmont/Futura. Make a killer sleeper for little coin.

And no, it's not my car.

Man a relative of the bat mobile , I guess my car is one to because it's black . That's funny I'm sure someone will buy it too . Oh well what can you do

I actually like fairmonts.....but come on.....

I'm surprised he didn't say "and for you mopar fans...it's petty blue":icon_jokercolor:

What a car is worth and it's value are two totally different things. That car may be valued at $5,000, or $20,000, but it's worth is exactly what someone will be willing to pay for it. And worth doesn't come into play until someone actually buys it.

You also have to factor in the Buyers Pyramid. You not only need a buyer who really wants a 78 Ford Fairmont, and that's a very tiny crowd, but also wants one in those colors and is close enough to buy it without shipping or willing to pay the shipping, two conditions which make that tiny customer base almost microscopic.

So this guy can value his car for $5,000 all he wants, but it's going to most likely end up being worth $500.

The only good Fairmont was Bob Glidden's P/S-er's...LOL

My sister Lori had one, I never liked them really, it was a lemon too, at the dealership constantly...

that car looked pretty damn clean/preserved for a 78 Fairmont "albeit"

Thanks for the memory Bud. I saw Glidden run that Pro Stock Fairmont back in the late 70s. That thing looked about as aerodynamic as a moving van.
