In 2013 I was sitting with my father in law for breakfast in Sioux City Iowa. We were talking about me finding an old mopar. One of his buddies at the table said his son has a 1969 roadrunner that he put in old storage building in 1984 and he is getting divorced so he has to sell it. He bought the car in 1970 it was repo. He blew the motor and had replaced it with a 1969 440 out of a gtx. So I got hold of him and purchased the car. I was traveling for work so my father in law went and picked up the car. The car was covered with three tarps and enclosed in a plywood box it was crazy. When my father In law unwrapped it looked pretty good boy was I wrong. I originally wanted to take it to 100% stock. The car has the original window sticker and a perfect build sheet no tears or anything I was very pumped. My father in law towed it down to Texas for me. I started buying NOS parts for the car lesson learned don’t do that till you now what shape the car is in. First thing we did is blasted the car I nearly cried when I saw it. Quarters, fenders, trunk all gone. The under side had been coated it saved that section. At that point I almost gave up and abandoned the project. I let it sit for six months til one day I was sitting at work and decided to create something no one has my PERFECT roadrunner. I love the simple front and rear of a 1969 but I wanted to lower the car so I thought it would be cool to use 70 quarters and fenders. I thought with no ridge line the car would look better lower. Next I had a graphic artist draw my dream car HOSTILE. I took that to my builder and he started creating. Three years later HOSTILE was born. FYI no one makes 1970 quarters so my body man pounded out the ridge line. I was told the quarters from a 1970 would bolt right on WRONG there four inches longer so we had to rework the whole backend including custom rear glass. Let me know what you think?
