the 72 rallye charger is mine now

Well not much has been done still ordering parts as I get extra cash . So the full rear end rebuild kit showed up and the disc brakes showed up . I also just ordered the seat upholstery witch just leaves me with needing the upper door panels and the interior wil. Be ready to go . I also ordered a heat shield dino mat I've never used this stuff before but the lowner 72 440 4 speed car is hot as hell . So I decided to plan ahead anyone ever use this stuff does it work ? For $50 bucks a sheet I hope so .
I'll be ordering my a/c parts next any input on what system is best?
Here's the photo from legendary of my seat upholstery.
Sorry no real updates I'm not real motivated at least the parts are getting ordered still no luck on a stripper may have found a painter though so that's good 72KSA104U.jpg

Also I need the lens that covers the a/c controls does anyone reproduce these? Or maybe someone had some 3.d. printed already

Are you sure that's Legendary and correct?

I'm not familiar with the "no button" pattern on that style.

My 72 SE has the same pattern, but with buttons, just like 73/74 SE.

Yes it's legendary. The buttons come with the upholstery you can install them or leave them out. I stopped installing them as after awhile my fat *** going in and out rips them right out or makes them loose .I think they look fine without them anyways makes it stand out from other chargers
On the back side of the upholstery there's marks so you know where to stick the holes for the buttons

Nice project. First time seeing this. The front valance trim I was told is for a 71 only SE charger. I found a mint one last year at Carlisle for my 72 SE. That car is coming along nice. Good luck.

Yeah the trim is rare it was 71-72 only and only on a select few cars .
And my apologizes the seat upholstery from legendary does come with the buttons already installed last set didn't come like that I guess they started getting to many complaints about haveing to do it your self I was going to run without the buttons but I guess I don't have a choice now oh well .

Well something finely got done .
the old welder was fired up today and welded in two floor pan patchs and cut the 3rd out cleaned up the sub frame sealed it and started the install of the last pan .
Also test fitted the 4 speed hump to see where to weld it in at .
And finely threw the carpet in to double check the hump all looks good .so out came the carpet and maybe tomorrow the floor will be finished .
Also have a paint shop guy coming by tomorrow to quote me on the paint job . So let's hope all go's well .maybe I'll get I painted soon .

Well guys I just got a quote from a very good paint shop they said they would strip the car finish all the metal work and body work out the car back together and paint the car for $10000
What do you guys think my car needs a little bit of everything done to it a rust spot here and there . I was thinking about 6-7 so there not to much higher

I guess that don't sound like too bad of a price quote. A friend of mine back home had his 68 GTX all restored w/engine rebuild and his car was about the same shape yours was. I believe he paid right around 20 grand to have it all done.

Wow that's a lot .
My price doesn't look so bad now .
I do have to keep in mined that there going to strip it (that was another $2000) and its all in house so as soon asit's striped it gets setup with the rust inhibitor stuff so no chance of flash rust (witch is what happened to this car last time) also they have a rust free set of rallye doors he says if there cheaper then fixing mine he will adjust the price accordingly.
I'm really iffy though I never have sent any of my cars out . They say its a 3 mouth turn around and I'll need to wait a month or two before I bring it because they need to get a few cars out first .
This is a very well known shop they have been around forever and do show quality work so I guess the cost is just .

What the hell will I do with an empty garage for 3-4 months

What is the name of the Shop? For three months you can assemble and detail needed parts.

Well my mind is made up and the 72 rallye is going into paint and body shop in a month (they have a few other cars getting finished up) so they are striping cutting welding body working and painting .
I also had them quote the sunroof carit is much better shape and they say $4500 or so for it ,so it won't be to far behind my rallye

I'll take lots of pictures threw the processes if possible

Merry f in Christmas to me......
After all this time wilwood was nice enough to finally send (half) of my disc brake setup.
They sent the master a few mouths back and said the second half of my stuff is in the way said it's one week behind the first set witch showed up today finely.. I love new shiny stuff IMAG1304_BURST001.jpg

And it keeps on coming rear setup came in finely. All I'm waiting for now is the power brake booster and the parking brake cable adapter kit . I will still need to order a stock prop valve as I ordered an adjustable one for the rear that piggybacks inline after the org one so after it is ordered the brake stuff will all be here .next I'll focus on the suspension and steering stuff I'm thinking the gear reduction stuff on the stock power steering gear box and stock everything else then suspension well the 1.03 bars are looking good but may be over kill in a small block application.

Oh and by the way the motor is apart and will be going back together soon (I'll get pics )IMAG1315_BURST001.jpgIMAG1316_BURST001.jpg

What do you all think about the brake upgrade it looks nice but I thought it would be bigger . It's 4 pistons per caliper so it's what I ordered anything bigger and the price skyrocket s

Man has this been a long time since an update well sorry no update really, the car never made it to paint (my wife killed that one real quick) something about fixing the house we need to live in first then I can play with my toys! So paint got put on hold I did manage to order a few parts fuel tank sender seals j bolts (the bulk of the fuel system) I still need to order suspension and steering stuff and a few odds and ends my house is starting to look like a mopar parts store. Actually we were out in my father's new 64 300k conv and the starter relay went bad I jumped it we drove to the parts store they said they would have one in a week I said sure order it we jumped it again and went to my parts store I had 3 in stock brand new and about 5 good used ones hanging around.
Anyways back to the charger it got kicked out of the garage so the house renovation supplys didn't walk away ,then to add to my mopar problems I bought the RT (probably shouldn't have) then bought it a garage then 2 days after I bought the RT my brother calls says his wife wants my 74 sunroof car out if her garage!!!! So now I got 3 cars that call need inside storage and one garage space available till some of this house stuff goes away plus I got the 72 440 4 speed car (I'm babysitting it) I guess I'm lucky I sold the 3 on the charger and the 73 general D pick up truck so I got a little room. I need a few cars to go soon. I still have the 64 Newport conv out back and a 2001 Celica gts I bought to flip to help fund the rallye .I'll add a few pictures but maybe I'll try for rallye pictures soonIMAG1692_BURST001.jpg

Decided to take inventory today to see what all I bought and what's left because I've been trying to sell my beloved charger but after going threw everything I'd be insane to sell it now I have almost everything just waiting on some funds to pay to get the metal fab and paint work done right .
So Here's a picture of just the new parts in box's this isn't anything including the 4 speed conversion kit or interior panels I bought or the dash stuff or trim or ect . What do you think it's on hell of an expensive pile

I thought all the parts you mentioned came with the car?:eusa_whistle:

I wanted to give a special thanks to
challenger6pak from on here .
He has been very helpful and I've been buying a lot of stuff from him (I've been there 3 diff times) the man has some good stuff he has a lot listed on here but he has more if you need something challenger related or 71-73 charger drop him a p.m. he's a stand up guy very fair on prices I've bought from him , the hideaways (bumper and all),interior lower door panel's, rear valance(duel exhaust cut out), floor shift steering column, pair of bucket seats , wiper arms, dash frame, gauge cluster plus wireing, and a few other things here and there. So I would like to say THANKS ! And tell you guys he's got some good stuff left and lots of it so if you need something let him know he might just have it. (All items were at very fair prices) (hell he even gave me some free stuff too) he's a great guy I would put his name up but not shure if he's ok with it so p.m. him and find out your self .

By the way no real update I've just been buying parts and fighting with a eBay seller about a trunk lid I bought it was poorly packed and it was very badly damaged he wants me to send it back and he would refund me my cash but I'd lose $150 for shipping cost and be out a rust free trunk lid so I'm not shure what to do I payed $250 for it plus $75 shipping then it will be $75 to send it back .but the corners on this thing are really screwed and it's got about 10 little dents on the ridge that will be a pain to fill what do you guys think the old lid isn't that bad needs a small amount of rust repair on back edge and under side (the common spots for 71-74 b body's) I could take the two and make one but that kinda defeats the purpose of buying the "new one"
He should be paying return shipping. That is Ebays policy. You should question them about it. I have when sellers have sent me junk or damaged goods. They should refund all your money including original shipping and make the seller pay return shipping. Have you filed a claim?

No up dates sorry just bumping this to the top for a potential buyer to look at
