Hello to all

When it moves forward it moves but when it moves backwards it stops. In reverse the car stops, But if I accelerate it moves a little

The parking brake it’s fine and the differential it’s fine (I bolted off the transmission and the rear axle go fine)

The parking brake its released

Thanks in advance

Let the engine run until fully warmed up. Check transmission fluid while engine is running. Add fluid if it is low

Check the rear brake shoes. I had a piece break off and would jam between the drum and shoe.
Weird but only in reverse. Maybe ?

Recent brake work? Are the primary shoes in the proper position (shorter shoe faces front).

what I can understand is that he said he bolted the transmission so maybe unbolted driveshaft? He did say axle goes fine so maybe reverse is slipping? band adjustment? if he tried to accelerate and it moves a little.

Tell us a little more about your car. Milage, transmission model, is this a new development- has the car been operating OK before this started?
Mike

Thanks to all

Well I need to check the transmission fluid

69 Charger 383 with 500hp. Summit TCI 727 STREET FIGHTER. Diff 3.53

No recent work on brakes

Yes I bolted off the trans to discard the rear brakes or diff issues

I have 2 videos, apologies are in Spanish but you can see the rear brakes and the trans bolted off to discard

No in neutral the car dont move

The last owner dont know about this issues, then I think that the car go fine before…

This could be the transmission.

One example: I recently read the line pressure, the internal hydraulic pressure, is greater for operating in reverse, than it is moving forward.

You could have low transmission fluid levels, a poorly adjusted throttle pressure linkage, or a worn out transmission.

If you know the transmission to be in good order, and the throttle pressure linkage is adjusted correctly, then I'm stumped. The drive shaft, u-joints, and differential would normally operate equally the same moving forward as it does backward.

The only thing left is test is the transmission.

How can I test the transmission??

If I remember correctly it's hard to turn the drive shaft backwards by hand on a 727.

Place the transmission in neutral for a few minutes then shift to reverse and see how it acts.

Like stated check fluid level. If it's okay then check band adjustment and pressure test.

Good luck!

Are you sure the emergency brake cables are not sticking??
