My son attended the downtown pre-Hillclimb party last night and spoke to Randy Pobst about his Mopar and our Mopars. Bryce said Randy is just how he appears on TV. I really nice normal guy. Pobst is driving a wide body and someone else is driving a wide body RedEye.

Bryce said one part of the conversation went like this.

BV: We have a few Mopars, I drove the '71 Challenger tonight.

RP: Nice, what engine does it have?

BV: It's a 408 Stroker.

RP: (Surprised) That's pretty big. Does it have a 4 speed?

BV: Yes.

RP: That's very cool!

As hired guns go, you could do a lot worse than Randy Pobst.
I just hope he keeps this one on the pavement this year.

I think the very first motorcycle rider up the mountain crashed and was air-lifted by the Flight for Life. They closed the starting line for a while because of storms. Now the bottom is open but the top is closed. They just shorten the race. Kind of misty but I can still see the summit from my house.
