The theme of Roadkill and Roadkill garage echo what I've been doing for years. I loved the fact that they inspired others to resurrect dead cars and get them mobile again. I've owned many junker cars over the years and had a whole lot of fun with them.
I agree with DF, driving a V8 RWD car on dirt is an absolute blast.

I'm there with you, I had the RK mentality before there was the show. I just want to be able to drive it even if its rough. That will carry through to the Coronet, I just rarely say it because I think most people look down on it and I'm not really fishing for opinions anyway. But it is funny that for most of the cars in my driveway the neighbors have asked about my paint plans, when there aren't any those don't involve a spray can.

I'm not sure it was about economics if MT would just focus on the necessities. Full Custom Garage was the first to be cut and Ian is doing his own thing on YouTube with just his wife on a shoestring budget. Freiburger is doing the same. It is almost like MT has this "big show" mentality where shows have to cost $$$xxxx.xx per episode and there is no appetite to try to do them for less. No one wants to be the one to find the non-essential position(s) and eliminate it/them. Almost sounds like our Government. (sorry). Maybe Elan Musk should buy Discovery?

I highly recommend this watch. Lots of misconceptions (including some in this thread) are put to rest
and corrected by the guy who would know - such as he and the other presenters never being more than
employees in the whole thing, for example.

The tv channel isn't going anywhere, neither are the magazines or events. I watched the 30 min video of Freiburger and read multiple articles today regarding all of this. They claim roadkill will air with a new season in 2025 and roadkill garage will air in 2026. Never say never, everyone is cost cutting. Go on the MT media site and channel contacts and raise hell!

I didn't like Roadkill at 1st, but grew to like it, but I've seen most every episode twice
(trashed out looking cars/like Ratty Looking cars/Rat Rod craze)
My thinking was why put a bunch of good parts or high dollar parts
on an unsafe & a rusted POS...
I guess they had the budget to do anything they wanted...

I liked the Crop Duster way better after it was painted...
I enjoyed the banter of the people & the road trips, so I got used to it...
Still don't like clapped out junk on the road, but it's a TV show,
that had more than just that **** to offer...

My favorite was/is Engine Masters, even if I knew most of it
I like/d following along, clarification of what works & what's myths...

Doesn't look like the 'diversity factor' has clobbered the show yet....give it time.

There'll be a black female one-legged lepper working on cars in the first episode Disney produces.
