Gettin ready to go do it in about 30 min.

I resemble this remark! I am shutting down my unofficial transmission rebuild hobby (again), so started going through my spare parts that I will never use again. I have 2 bins (about 150 pounds) of stuff that I culled out, and found a few goodies that I forgot I had.
Our local Transmission guy who is an expert with torqueflites has closed his business down a month ago. It will take him around six months to clear all the excess parts out and basically dump most of it to scrap metal. He is giving some good stuff to another rebuilder he knows....and keep a few small items. The rest is just being loaded onto trailers and into skips and off to cash it up.

The new way of doing things appears to be replace and not rebuild.

3 or 4 years ago, a local independant rebuilder closed up his shop, and tossed out a lot of older parts. He was a good guy that would let me pick through his 727 syuff and sell me what I needed. When he was closing up, I thought about going over and buying his old 727 parts. Then I thought, "How much longer am I going to be doing this?", and passed on it. I will be 77 in about 3 weeks, so good time to call it quits after about 40 years.
