Back in 1976, in West Germany, a deuce and a half driver failed to tie down properly a 500 gallon fuel pod in the bed. He panic stopped at an accident site and the pod took off the cab at waist level, and him with it. What a mess.
In 1982 a local trucker failed to properly secure a D8 dozer... Same result...
In 1994 A local trucker failed to properly secure a load of paper rolls going to a printing press... Again, same result.... It pays to properly secure your load cause your load is like a Honey Badger... It don't care....
I tend to "over secure". The old timers tease me that I'm "scared" and that's why I use so many chains. I always reply that I have NEVER lost a load.Yup.... Guys get away with improper tie down methods for years... Till they don't.... And if you try to point out a problem they'll act like you don't know what your talking about...
