What a day it was on Friday....
I have the new engine built, and needed to take the engine/trans out so I can ship the trans out for some high performance components to be added. It was a long day and other than a couple of hickups, the engine and trans are out and they are now separated, pending a divorce.

The trans gets a close ratio planet set from Performance Automatic and when it comes back the new union goes into the car - but not before I get the firewall smoothed out and the engine compartment blasted and painted (probably a charcoal gray). I'll make new brake lines to go with the new Baer Master Cylinder, and then rewire the car (again) with Ron Francis Wiring. Going to be a busy summer!

Out with the old, in with the new! Keep us posted.

I'm slowly dressing up the 408 and decided to get creative with the Plug Wires to keep them up and out of the way of the exhaust.

I started with .5"x1/16" aluminum stock, cut to 6" in length, and mocked them up. Turned out pretty okay, Will probably look nicer when all the wires are cut and crimped, but here's what I have so far. The wires are FAST FireWires, 8.5mm plus sleeves, and I found a set of aluminum wire separators from Summit that fit up to 10mm, so they're perfect for this.
