The Roach

The TTI hangers don't look bad when everything is squared up...

Nice, I bought hangers from Accurate to replace my TTI hangers as well. The rubber chunks on my TTI hangers have tread on them. It doesn't seem right to have all of the money in the car and to hang the exhaust with cut up tires.

Well, at least you were doing your small part to save the planet.

A little more progress. Got to order front brake hoses, then recruit a friend to help me bleed the brakes. I’m hoping that it’s down on the ground within a couple of weeks.

It started out a messy, dirty job! You got rid of the old and now it's like working on a new car. I like working on cars that are that clean! Looks great!!!!!

The rain gutters and vent windows seem to be the two biggest causes of wind noise in my car.

Other areas that seem to "grab" the air, the mirrors, bumper gaps, the wide open grille, the recess near the quarter window....

That may be true but common sense tells me that it doesn’t catch the air as much as it just splits it.
The gaps around the tires draw air up into the wheel wells. The gaps around the rain gutters and anything else that stands off the body probably don’t catch the air as much as they just disrupt it.

Have you ever wondered why radio antennas since the 90s have a thin wire wrapped around the full length of the antenna? I saw a demonstration at a dealership between two whip antennas: one with and one without the wire. Guess which one cuts through the air quieter? Yep, the wire wrapped antenna. It's really amazing.

Oh, I agree that every little but helps but it seems to me that the antenna would cause less disruption than a huge bumper cap or open grille.

Wouldn't it depend on the frequency of the sound and how far it will travel? Is it just outside the window or 6 feet in front?

Got some more little stuff done over the last couple days. Hooked up the new gas pedal, hydraulic clutch hose, installed the good looking muffler hangers, got the start of the heater hoses run, and the power brake vacuum hose, which necessitated taking the intake off because it’s so tight in the back of the engine.
