The Roach

Ran into my first snag ….. with the TTI exhaust. The tailpipes fit, but the H-pipe fits like crap. When it comes time to get it running, I’ll just get a pair of cheap cherry bombs and loosely bolt them onto the collectors. In the spring, I’ll just trailer it to the local custom exhaust shop and let them work their expertise.
Good Idea! I bought the X pipe setup from TTI. Didn't fit either. I let the muffler shop deal with mine too.

I don't get how exhaust never seems to fit.. i know the cars weren't built to the tightest tolerances but it's not like a engine is 2" to the left by accident or the muffler hangers are in the wrong spots completely....

Sometimes the best thing to do is cut a flange off and mock the system up simply rewelding the flange in a perfect alignment.
It will maintain the rest of the system as made.
Ask me how I know.

FYI

Take a picture of your shiny new polished ceramic coated headers because the finish will dull from heat cycles and you can't polish it back.

Going through them would all be estimating. It'll just easier to go to the pros that I have dealt with before.
Drop it off and pick it up done. The last thing I have always done is to have the exshaust system professional installed. Whatever it takes to make it fit perfectly. Looks great Mark!! Can't wait!

Had the same problems with the TTI stuff, its a good start but one size does not fit all and you should be aware of that going in. With some judicious welding and cutting it can fit as well as any custom system. It's the difference between buying a suit off the rack and having one tailored. Most exhaust shops can't mandrel bend and that in itself can make all the difference. Like anything else in this hobby, the end result is from the investment of time and money.

Even the tailpipes are going to need some tweaking so the hangers hang like they are supposed to on the factory mounts.
