I wanted to start a thread on the transformation of Daisy (73 Satellite) from a mild mannered cruiser into something a little more. She entered my life with a 318/904 and 2.76 geared 8.25" rear. Hopefully this summer she will have a 440/727 and Dana 60. The motor has been built for a year and today some other parts started showing up so I thought I'd share it in this thread. A lot of the work is going to be done by a good friend. Due to our farming schedule in the spring I simply don't have time to work on the car. I will try to share as work progresses. Thanks, Doug

Hey Doug, THIS WILL BE ONE GREAT RIDE WHEN YOUR DONE! Take your time and enjoy it, it is as good building as it is driving bud!!!

440 is in

The 440/727 and Dana 60 is in, a few things to finish, throttle, kickdown cable etc. and then we should be ready to fire it.
Thanks to Bruce and Trent for doing the install and building the motor, as my work schedule simply would not allow time.

We used Schumacher mounts and their shorty headers, had a few issues with clearances, had to section the K member to clear the oil pan. But overall I would recommend Schumachers stuff and their instructions are pretty clear.

I'm glad I have the power bulge hood because I'm going to need all the room I can get.
Be happy to provide details on the motor build will share any thing about it you want to know. I will give a full report after it is running and I have a chance to evaluate it. 440.JPG

Also used the Iso-delete kit from Firm feel to install the D 60, which went in problem free, the Dana was custom built at Mosers and dropped in perfectly. 3.54 gears and tru-trac diff.
