Thermostat question

How far open should the thermostat get.

This is how far mine opened after reaching 210 degrees

How long was it in 210 degree water? I like to test a 180 stat at 180 for a least several minutes.

I didn't time it but I would say for a few minutes before turning it up.
I can pull it open about twice as much as in the picture.

Is it a Mopar stat or one from AZ or someplace like that? Someone in another post was saying that the aftermarket stats were not like they once were....

Its a Mr Gasket Thermostat

Did you boil it in water? That's what I do to test them and I know I've seen them open more than that. If it opens 25% of the diameter of the hole that should be enough to allow for adequate flow.
