They're still out there...

We'd all like to have it and make it pristine but I get it. It's his car, he bought it new and he doesn't want anyone else to own it. It is a shame for us guys that love them but it is his choice to make. As a friend of mine says "that's what makes them rare".
You would think he would get joy from seeing someone restore it to as new but we're all wired up differently, maybe that would be like seeing your ex wife in a party dress with her new squeeze who knows?

A plethora of MOPAR's in Ohio for sale, some rare some not, some good prices some meth heads evaluation of value.

Dammit @rickseeman , talk some sense into him!
I'm hemicarless right now and have been looking for a project to keep me busy. That car would certainly keep me busy. When I look at it I have this desire to bring it back. I have the most wonderful body man in the world a few miles away. There is an interior shop in town. I have friends that can do the little things I can't. I have a wonderful shop to work on it in. I could scrounge up the cash to finish it. All the stars are lined up. He's supposed to come visit me in a few weeks. I'll say something to him. But historically speaking, if he's never sold a car in his life...

In my area I knew of two different families that had cars that belonged to their kids who went to Vietnam and never returned. However, they all had hope they would be returning.

One was a 65 Fastback Mustang that was lovingly cared for at least 20-years and then parked on a concrete slab next to a corn crib. I tried to buy it for 30-years to no avail.

The second one was a 63 Falcon Sprint with a 260 4-spd. It was kept under a nice carport for 40-years and then pushed out in the backyard. I tried buying it for 40-years.

It's really quite selfish. If he drove it occasionally then fair enough, but to just let it rot away in the woods - pointless.
Must be very eccentric, I just don't understand, if he loves Mopars then wouldn't he want it saved, or at least stored properly?

The moral of the story is, you don't really know what the circumstances are behind the people that own cars and won't part with them.

In my opinion like it or not, it's their car to do with as they choose, just as it's your right to do with the property you own.

So while you don't like it, "really quite selfish" is nothing to you because you're not wearing that mans shoes.

100% agree if there's a personal reason attached to it like in your story.

However, there are many folks who don't have such reasons, and the OP's statements such as "he's never sold a car" and the "yard gets crowded" and that he's still got his "first car and first new car back there" led me to my comments on him being selfish and eccentric. This is from a Mopar lover's perspective.

The crappy vertical cell phone pictures in his ad and zero information aren't cutting it. When I see ads like that, I'm thinking that the seller is a douche nozzle.
Especially when some of the pictures are screenshots of Mecum.com pictures.

Wise man told me one time.

Everything's for sale. All it takes is the right amount of cash to make it so.

Ps, my car is not for sale either. But I had an offer on it once that made me think about it.
Actually, told the guy we could talk.
Deep down I feel like he was just fishing . BUT he knew he had my interest
Never seen him again

My GTX was parked next to Richard Cranium’s former Hemi Charger at Carlisle two years ago. Deep pocket guy asked what I’d take for it.

RC’ s Charger was priced at $285K. Fellow member Hacksaw pipes up, “he’ll sell it today for the price of the Charger.” It didn’t happen, but at that price I don’t think I could have refused. I did, however, pass on an amount that was nearly double what I paid for it. "Back in the day" connection with a car ups the ante, for sure.
