seems a lil' light, with all steel panels & wheels etc. etc. etc.
my old 68 RR 383/479cid 6bbl/alum, 7qt Milodn pan
AN lines & fittings elect. pump, big canister filter by tank
& small filter before the carbs & bypass reg. with all the hoses etc.
with glass 'lift off' factory style 'pinned on' A12 hood,
no hinges just like a real A12
glass bumpers & alum. brackets, lightweight seats & 5pt harnesses
gutted interior, no back seat no padding/no sound deadening,
but still had carpet
*added;
0.060" alum block off panel between the cabin & trunk *(maybe 5#s)
a 4 pt roll bar *(maybe 50#s), subframe connectors/braces *(30#s)
& a bunch of stiffening plates & torque boxes *(maybe 10#s), etc.
QA1 tubular, LCA & UCA's, adj. alum. strut-rod & QA1 tubular K-member,
(combined weight 38#s)
still retaining the torsion bars & org style motor mounts (both heavy ****)
CalTracs, on HD springs/less bottom leafs, Lamb dbl adj. shocks all 4 corners,
Bolt in Uni-steer rack & pinion, alum PS pump & alum 2 belt crank pulley
& 2 short serpentine belts & a lil fabricated idler, chrome alum 75amp alt.
much lighter steering vs the heavy OE P/S '**** is'
alum; heads, pump, housing, this 3 row MRE alum rad/shroud
& light 2 alum. 2900cfm pusher (aux) & 3300cfm puller electric fan,
group 24 800ca battery in the trunk (heavy), heavy 0-ga cable/grounds
a bunch of lighter bolts, washers nuts, here & there
Alum forged Halibrand (Edelbrock) wheels, far lighter than any steelies
or let alone Magnum 500s with trim rings
probably 1/2 their actual weight, with 245/60/15 upfront & 315/60/15 DR rears
with a 742 MP Alum center section (expensive but far lighter) drilled MW axles
still it was 3250#s without me in it, w/5-ish gals of fuel
& with a relatively full (12-16 ga.) fuel tank & me it was about 3520#-ish
almost perfect 51% front & 49% rear bias on 4 corner race scales
I didn't weigh it, before I did all of it
but the whole front suspension & K-frame minus brakes/shock
only weighs 38#s
stock steel hood, hinges & latch, was at least 50#s heavier min.,
than the lift-off A12 unit is
let alone 50#'s+ for alum. heads, wp housing, fans, rad/shroud, at a min.
another 50# - maybe 75#'s+ all the alum products lighter,
30#'s+ w/fib. bumpers & alum brackets
my 3" mandrel Flowmaster delta 50 exhaust out the back/4-2-1 scavenger collectors
was heavy, but not 50#'s heavier than OE
far less than that car
not saying it's impossible, that seems too light
