Anyone remember the story where a guy broke into a couples home and fell through their glass coffee table. The thief was cut up pretty bad and sued the homeowners, he won and was paid handsomely. The homeowners were found guilty of an unsafe environment. The thief was never charged.

There's been a couple of cases where that crap happened here too but don't think it's happening anymore in this state. The jury pool is sick of thieves getting away with crap like that and are not siding with the liberal judges etc. If that was a jury trial and had I been on it, there would have been no way they would have got my vote on an unsafe environment. Anyone that enters my home unannounced and unwelcome would be entering an unsafe environment.....unsafe for that person anyways.

I just came home yesterday to evidence of someone trying to break into my house... unsuccessfully luckily. Had I been home Ida been a little more than pissed, I despise thieves!
Yes I am Canadian but I am a registered gun owner and although the laws here do not include being able to defend myself with lethal force even inside my own home... there is no incentive to let someone break into my house and threaten me or my family.

So what's the moral difference between an attack trained dog in a house vs a shotgun rigged up? They are both traps. The Law has always read self defense INSIDE the home is justifiable. WTF? & a thief being awarded for breaking in & the homeowner being sentenced to time in prison? Really, WTeffinF??!!
