Hey guys Im thinking of buing the 426/465hp. It is the only one in my price range, but Im not happy with the meager 465hp. What is the quickest and most economical way in my (garage) to get 50-100 hp more out of these 9.1 compresion engines, Blending race fuel with pump gas is not a problem 4 me, I always have some around. Thanks.

I would save some more pennies and have one built.I'm not big on "crate" motors on a limited budget. For not much more, you can build a quality pump gas elephant. How much is the one you can afford and who builds it?

MOPAR PERFORMANCE $13,500, from SUMMIT , plus FREE shipping. I just googled Hemi crate motor proplems and it does not look good.

I agree.

Typically you can have a new one built from the several name builders for the same price as a crate. The crate price is just the start of it as most people have to tear them down and check everthing anyway. Most of them have SOMETHING that needs correcting and once you have it apart you may as well balance and blueprint it.

100% agree with the above. Do not buy a crate engine, because you absolutely will have to tear it down and check clearances, etc. Do a search for Hemi builders and start making some calls.

i just had a huge build done in so-cal area by a big name shop using mostly dart and comp parts. it was bow-tie build, but having a hemi project going on and seeing a couple of them in their shop i had to ask who is the hemi guy to see and talk to. they said a name and, sorry i don't remember it all, but it ended with the last 4 letters cini, not mancini but close. with their reputation i would respect their advice.
i will try some google stuff but will call later if i have to for it. this is how it starts.:idea1:

thanks guys, Ive change my mind, im going with a STANTON 790hp wedge.

wouldnt $13000 US go along way on a stroker big block with ally heads?
I have been considering the same thing as you but some of the mopar crate engines that people have imported down here have had some issues and the experts say tear them down before you run them. A 472 came up for sale last year and he wanted $30000 NZ and I thought it would be nice but I would have to feed the children rice for a year.
And I dont think that it would add all that value to the car.

It is an irratation to me to see posts like this. If you are going to respond to a post don't come in on the last post in the thread, READ THE ENTIRE THREAD FIRST. When other people take the time to respond it really isn't necessary to repeat the same thing.

From my post above "The crate price is just the start of it as most people have to tear them down and check everthing anyway. Most of them have SOMETHING that needs correcting and once you have it apart you may as well balance and blueprint it."

Once you see that $13k is crate full of assembled parts, not of your choice, than you'll see that having one built by an expert of your choice with the parts of your choice might run $16k and stay together without issues for a long time.It should help to make a wiser decision.:happy1:

Maybe you should relax a little…… further masturbation may help this for you….
However from reading a medical journal it stated too much may cause irritation which is of course your original complaint.

You are fairly new here and we don't need this kind of crap. Just READ the entire thread before posting something redundant.

actually to make a point, your 69sixpac fella took a swipe at my post first, yes I am new here and yes I did read the entire thread, however if you dish the "CRAP" then expect….
YOUR CRAP RIGHT BACK IN YOUR IRRITATION

Sensitive little guy aren't you. Fortunately we have an ignore feature on this site that I will be using so I don't have to see your posts in the future. Bye.

sorry man looks like I bought the best out in everybody, I might have helped ruin a good thread.
but anyway yeah I would love a hemi retrofit in my 69bee.
you are lucky that all your desired parts are stateside local if you wanted the same.
we on the other hand are on the otherside of the planet and parts cost what the cost by the time they turn up with freight and duties etc.
I will disconnect my wikipedea and sell my encyclopedia library and just ask the 696pac guy, ….. coz he knows it all.
I will be sure to visit him when I pass through Sodomy A.Z
