as long as you're legally hunting, up-to date licensed/tags etc.
Ca. Fish & Game will defend your rights

Now If you're one of them douches, that intentionally interrupt a hunt
or take someone stuff, mess with someone active blind or decoys
or do that crazy protestors crap
on an active hunt, you get arrested & go directly to jail/get processed
maybe overnight if you're lucky, or not a Sat. evening when it happened
wait in jail till Mon. to see a judge
& it's a huge fine, some jail time too, if the right judge is on the bench...

Haven’t been any vocal hunting protests here yet. Sensible people realize that meat also comes from feed lots etc. so hunting is like fishing.
Even though I know people that will catch as many Jack fish/ pike as allowed and refuse to eat them. Lose my respect.
We were raised that you didn’t waste meat. But you could shoot gophers.

Yeah, nearly fifty years ago I was a jackfish snob. Now we look forward to catching them. A big jack, filleted, is fantastic. Catching them in cold water is the key. At the mouth of the river here where it goes into Great Slave Lake usually has a lot of cold water jacks. I prefer them to whitefish and big trout.
