on 73s, Lower ball joints where threated into the LCA ( which I guess it has threads too )... on 74 changed to pressed ball joints.

My Charger is 74, but if you have the chance to install new LCAs, and they are threated kind setup. Would you do it ?

Why use one over the other ?.

Threaded ones don't require removing the LCA and finding someone with a press.

...but DO require a ball joint socket.

That's my take.

i have no preference. i always tack weld mine in after i install them. i once had one pop out , so that will never happen again.

Removing the LCA is not necessary with either type joint. If I had a preference, I think it would be the threaded type because I have seen some of the pressed type control arms crack in the end where the ball joint presses in. At least with the threaded type, there is zero stress from a press fit and you always have the option of puttin three or four good spot welds on them. I'm not sure I would go to the trouble to change though, because the number of cracked LCAs I have seen to the number of uncracked ones is very small and I have replaced an asston of lower ball joints.

it is pretty much weird just one year was threated, then the next ones press in
