First question....what size stamped steel nut is used on the side molding on the early 60's mopars?

Second question...does anyone have a factory fuel line that goes from the AFB 4 bbl. carb to the filter, its a short line, maybe 20 to 24 inches.

Last question (which I asked once before)..What is the position of the motor mounts on the engine lugs? Do the mounts go on the front with the front engine lug inside the mount or does the mount go inside with the lug on the outside of the front? A photo would be helpful since I can't seem to remember what I am told.....suffereing from CRS.

The engine brackets go on the back side of the lugs on the motor on our '63's.

2 questions....

Ok, two questions left...

Anyone with the correct size stamped nut:eusa_clap:?

Red,

On my 63 Fury the side molding nuts are 10/24 and the nut size is 3/8"

The ones I'm most interested in are the ones for the pot metal spear points on the front fenders. I know I can get them I just don't want to have to buy 3 sizes just to get the right ones.

If possible I to would like to see a couple pictures of the engine mounts installed on a big block in the car 62-65 B body that is. The reason i ask is when i put the engine back into my 65 coronet the z-bar seems to be at alittle angle. I also noticed that the passenger side mount is either made twisted or in a bind. I am thinking possible the parts store gave me the wrong mounts, but i don't know for sure. Of coarse i to could have made a mistaken putting them on as well, they were off a good while. I am going to upload a couple of pictures of mine installed. The first is of the LH drivers side and the second is the RH passenger side showing the twisted mount. Could just be i need to replace that RH mount? Please let me know what you think!
Matt

Bump Anyone got any pictures of the 62-65 big block engine mounts in the car? Thanks in advance!
Matt

Here's a shot of mine:
Passenger side:

Driver's side. Now, the block in this photo is dimensionally correct, but it is not the standard rubber block. This is a solid steel insulator block which, admitedly, does not do much insulating, but it's not nearly as bad as people think it is. I made it years ago in HS metal shop class and I've carried it around to multiple cars since '87. However, I made it from a new rubber block that I had at the time. The width is correct and the studs are in the right place. I figured I'd give that explaination right up front because somebody's gonna ask why the corner's not cut off.

Thank you very much Hemicbx for the pictures. You see in your pictures the metal part of the mount to bolts to the Drivers side of the block does not have the angle that mine does. So know I am wondering if mine is bent?
So has anyone else got any BB 62-65 B bodies we can see some pictures of ?
Please!!!! Oh pretty please.
Thanks, Matt

I'm having a little trouble telling what I am looking at in your motor mount pics Matt, but are your engine brackets mounted on the front or the rear of the block's mounting ears? Here is a pic of mine on the driver's side where you can see they are mounted to the rear face of the ear. If they are mounted to the front, it could cause the twist you are seeing. Do your mounts have the two bolts going to the k-frame?

Yes, My engine brackets are on the rear of the ears on the engine block on both sides. And Yes the rubber mounts both have the 2 studs that go into the k frame. As best I can tell the RH mount is number 2227 and the LH is 2228.

Matt,
Don't know what you have but something is out of wack. Here are my 62 mounts, can't see all of the passenger side but everything is straight and not twisted.Your brackets are on right, has to be the rubber mounts.

Molding nuts....

First question....what size stamped steel nut is used on the side molding on the early 60's mopars?

Those nuts are called "pal" nuts. For side moldings you will likely need them with the seal. 10 sounds right.
Pal nuts are not used with threaded studs... usually 10-24 washer nuts.

I need two different sizes...a 3/8 sockets fits one size and a 5/16 socket fits the others.:thinker:

Try Fine Lines for your fuel lines!I sent them some original lines years ago! They made a set for me mirror image of the originals. They should still have them available. You are looking for the 4bbl.ones right?

Steve, I bought a set but will need an adapter to fit on a new carter carb. Not totally happy with them but will wait and see...
