Picking this up next week, flying into Birmingham, AL and driving it home (maybe I have watched too much Roadkill?) to DFW. 71 GTX #'s matching, 727, AC, 6 way power drivers seat and speed control. Needs some work but I believe it is a great starting place to make a day 2/restmod car.

I might, I want to put the wing style that was in use at the time of it's birth. Another car born 8/23 had the go wing, so I am going to try and research. My whole goal is that the car would look similar to what a day 2 car would have looked like back in 71.

I can't help you with which wing it could have had, I was trying to be humorous since there seems to be some adamant wing haters here. I get that some don't like them, but I personally like them, however if you car is a survivor you might to think about it hard. If it isn't a survivor, well then gloves off.. lol

Got some good rust that will need to be cut out on the rear quarters and new metal put in, so it will need a re-paint (keeping the same color), and as far as I am concerned, and this may be heresy to some, I am buying this car to drive and enjoy. Much of it will be either period correct, or restored. But I want it to look a certain way, all of which was available on the car when new, just not optioned on THIS car.

Although the color is different, and this one appears to have elastomeric bumpers, that profile pic looks amazing, down to the 72 strobe. Not sure I am going to the stripe, but that car looks killer.

Nice GTX, but those misplaced stripes always drive me nuts. I even replaced the stripes on my car because they were too far back and it drove me nuts!

Looks like it's only off by an inch.

Not tryin to be picky but its off by about 3". IIRC the factory placement was about 1-3/4" rear of the window opening, which places the bottom of the stripes about centered over the rear wheel arch. But I love seeing nice 71-72s. My favorite Mopars and Ive owned a few.

The first three are my old 74 SE Charger, which I sold to a buddy last year
I couldn't escape the bug so the last one is the next one I bought- a 400/727 SE car- I found and added a Dana 60. Currently sitting in the driveway mid-suspension rebuild.
