Looking at new windshields for 68 Charger, thought i would like one with the dark tint band across the top. But what im finding is the rest of the glass is tinted green? Is that the only color choice for tint? If so, is there a clear windshield with the tinted band?
Best source for a new windshield?
Thanks in advance

Tint was for AC cars, I bought mine from AMD and paid big time for shipping. I think you will have to go to a tint shop for what you want.

You’re in CT- I ordered mine through Autobody Specialties in Middletown CT- along with all my body parts and saved a fortune in shipping. Picked it up there.

This WAS an AC car, long gone. I don’t have car yet, does that mean all the other glass is green tint ?
Should I only be looking at the green windshield?

All the glass in an AC car should be tinted from the factory....not sure if one can be found new though

My dad was the exception to the rule. He was a fan of Ralph Nader, and made a big deal out of special ordering a factory A/C Dodge Dart in 1973, with clear glass on all windows. Showed up as a "delete option" on the order form.

I understand the excitement, but having the car in-hand might prove most helpful before spending $$? A white sheet of paper behind the glass shows you if tinted, and if so, what color (Blue factory; green and grey [smoke] are common aftermarket).

You would consult your fender tag (or broadcast sheet for full codes) for specifics (hopefully both with the car you're getting?). A/C would code a "1" (code 411) on the fender tag under the capital "S"; and then under the capital "X" would code a "1" for All Tinted ('normal' with A/C), or ('options' with A/C) a "2" for a Tinted Windshield with other glass clear, or a "3" for All Glass Clear (codes 521, 522, 523 respectively)

Pilkington Glass used to be the go to, but I had a hard time finding a rep lately. Summit used to have their stuff.
