What size rear tires look the best on 67 coronet? I'm running 255/70/15 which are too tall IMO.

I searched high and low for a pair of those. but I like them because I have huge wheel wells. drop down to a 275/60/15 . those look real good IMO

it also depends on how wide a rim you have

if the 275 are too wide(depends on your wheels)run the 255 60 15's.pretty much same width you have, just shorter.
255/70/15 are aprox 29.06 inches tall
255/60/15 are aprox 27.05 inches tall

Yeah after I burn these down I might try the 255/60, but I might even go to a 245/60 just because the wheel Wells are so damn narrow

not sure why they designed them to tapper thinner as you go up the well.you have some room to modify the upper inside of the outter well with a hammer to make it wider.just dont go crazy.

I will keep that in mind

Mine had 285/60 R15's on the back when I got it with no rubbing. Personally I am going to switch down to 255/60R15's.

But I wouldn't get narrower than that. Starts to look too wimpy with a narrow tire back there.

Damn 285 didn't rub?!

No surprisingly they didn't. Now that I replaced some sheet metal and the lip around the wheel opening is fatter the right side just touches but I also intend to narrow that back down to factory width. So yeah, basically no rub on the 285's. Now getting them in there is a different treat all together.

Have you jack up the car put jack stands under the frame rails by the front spring hangers, let the axle drop all the way down, get your wheels in the openings then lift the rear axle with the jack some, seat the wheels on the lugs and then tighten. Its a pain in the arse.

That's what I have to do with the 255/70's lol.

If I ever get a flat, I'm calling a flatbed wrecker!

Yeah I think I had to do that with the stock tires/wheels I put on here for a roller for now. I wish somebody repro-d the charger quarters. I'd put those on and raise the wheel opening to make that less of a pain in the arse.
