not a bee cause it's a hard top
no r/t badges and half the interior is gone
so i think i am gonna make it coronet jesse edition lol
eather way it's the best body style mopar ever made
well atleast in my world

I say clone.......it's your car....I cloned a 74 satellite into a Roadrunner and so no one mistakes it for the real thing my plate reads "RRWANAB" just enjoy your ride.

Im in the same boat. I bought my car and it was stripped, like that it's a n code SSP. But 'satellite' no matter how rare dosn't excite as much as that crazy Roadrunner cartoon bird! Luckily I have a looong time till I have to make my decision.Build what you want, be honest about what it is, and you won't hAve to worry about howMany miles you put on it!

Most answers above point to clone but add the phrase "just don't try to pass it off as real". So I gotta ask:

At what point do you reveal that it's a clone? Is it okay to put the sticker on it? Is it okay to put the metal GTX badge on a Satellite? Is it okay to just show the car and leave it alone until someone walks up and asks "Is it real?" Obviously when trying to sell the car you MUST reveal what the car really is - but when you all say "don't pass it off" isn't that what we do when we clone another model?

FWIW: I'm in the "cloning" camp. Just wondering what kind of flack I'm going to get when I tell people at the shows "Thanks, but it's not a 'real' ***"

but when you all say "don't pass it off" isn't that what we do when we clone another model?

I don't see it like that at all. You try to pass it off if you try and sell it at the price a real one would fetch without telling the prospective buyer what it really is.

I see cloning as simply turning a car into something you want it to be and nothing more.

I have a 68 satellite sport cloned to a gtx cause I liked the look better. Hasn't been a #'s or original car for years and wasn't going to try to put it back. I call it a gtx, but it still has the ss emblem on the dash above glove box. You're not gonna fool a real mopar enthusiast, and I'm not trying. I could never do a real nice #'s car for two reasons, first I couldn't afford it, second I have a problem with my right foot, it weighs a lot more than my left. I might put the superbird plymouth script on hte quarters just cause I love the look. It's yours do what you want. :)

I agree with most guys here. Its your car do what will make you happy. If you clone it, don't try to pass it off as original. I had the same thoughts on my Sport Satellite. Was thinking GTX, but, decided to keep it a Sport Satellite. I was also thinking of adding GTX hood and striping, but, not having GTX on it. Kind of to keep them guessing.

I agree with you both - just wondered what the responses/reactions you were getting on the clones. At the end of the day - who cares, it's your car do what you like. Just don't want to be the outcast or the poop in the punchbowl in the "community". I will most likely apply the GTX badge I bought at the Nats this year to the trunk of my Satellite. But anyone with a brain should realize no one would take a real GTX and add front and rear aftermarket suspension, 5spd Tremec, Willwoods and fuel injection. If they do believe it maybe they get what they deserve - LOL.

satellite is a Satellite.& coronet is a coronet!....big cool looking, mean b body.
......you know what Sonny Says;

:angryfire:"No Badge Just BAD!":icon_fU:

I have a 70 coronet 440 that i have been cloning to a super bee for the past five years! rallye dash, 440 six pack engine, pitchfork hood, woodgrain dash, etc... its a lot of work if you want to do it correctly, but it pays off in the end! But i would not be opposed to keeping one original if i had another one. Coronets being cloned into super bees/RTs means less original coronet 440s out there.

Hell could put a wing and a nose on it and call it a stinger. Lol .

thats a good point soon a coronet 440 will be more rare than a bee or 500
why did they call it a 440 it came with a 318? that can be confuseing
alot of ppl will think it has a 440 in it and i can see why
and that could be cool if i ever swap out my 383 for a 440
eather way it will look good and good thing it isnt a real bee or r/t cause i am not opposed to busting out the cut off wheel to gain better preformance

You disclose that it's a clone when you sell it. And if you've cloned right, then you explain what "clone" means -- that a letter of the alphabet will be missing from the VIN and fender tag. That's all.
