Exactly. I don't get the show on my dish package, but I used to watch on u-tube. So I sat and burnt up a half weekend watching this show. Like stated early watched trying to learn something new. For every episode might get 3-4 minutes of useful knowledge. These forums are certainly more informative. So I haven't seen a episode in a few years. Not enough bang for your buck. And like also stated earlier I wasn't watching for the drama. YMMV

I'll tell you the episode where Mark's daughter is on the phone with OSHA and Dougie interrupting looking for Mark is not only scripted, but bad acting, bad timing, and no comedic value whatsoever. It was bad TV for GYC.

Here is the recipe I would use for GYC; focus on MOPAR restorations and the stories behind the people that have the $80,000 plus dollars to sacrifice for their beloved ride. I think you'd get the non MOPAR car guys watching just for the stories on the $$$$ to restore at GYC.

one easy way to tell if it’s scripted.....if the camera is on! They can just as easily do a segment on what’s happening on a car, instead you get your above mentioned drama segment!

I like your idea for the show, and if they would expand the getting leads and following up on cars and purchases segments, that would add a lot of interest to guys like us. But you gotta keep it real, no drama, no BS and stupid asking prices and lowballs like Rawlings. Another good idea is your story behind the car segments, and maybe expand that to have a viewer “under construction” segment, or a “rods and rides” where viewers send in short videos of their cars. Something to interact with viewers.

Just be careful what you think you are learning,a lot of their engine building procedures are wrong IMO. I actually enjoy the dancing Elf,he can be funny. Oh,and I hope he don't mind me calling him an Elf or a muppet. He seems to like to cut down and call other people names out of humor so I can only assume it doesn't bother him.:poke:
 
I think this issue is like politics, those who like it or tolerate will continue to do so and those that don't won't unless it makes a dramatic change but by then it will probably get dropped.
 
I didn't mind a backstory on a car if it was significant, something special, or unique. There's no need to add a story every episode. Not every car they do needs a story.
I enjoy watching the show. Mark has some funny stuff occasionally. Some stuff is a little over-acted or badly scripted.
 
I show I do like to watch ,can't recall the name right now, is the guy with shaved head, no facial hair, that builds custom cars in his little -old everyday garage. No non sense, just straight forward talk about what he is doing, or how he is planing. I doubt this show will last long without having grab *** and the " 'bad ***" comment every few seconds........................MO

Full custom garage. That guy does great work. I like that show.

Yes that should be an example of what a car show could and should be. The guy is an artist whether his type builds are your cup of tea and no, he has talent, he can do it all, he shows pretty much what and how he does it.
Car articles that make good reading today are about the people, the owner, sometimes the seller, and not just about the car or he build. Should be the same on TV car shows. Some human interest injected.
Nothing against ole Mark's sense of humor, but he is bout as funny as a face wart.
 
I don't believe it will be around much longer and then there are so many stupid *** shows on TV any more ,it is a shame it could be a really good show but to much *** clown for me ,is Dave still doing you tube shows

I'm tired of all the BS and drama reality shows bring . What I would like to see in this show is the skills and knowledge some of these talented people bring to the restoration world while fixing the cars we like to see be restored , not all the demeaning drama , insults and fictitious fights .
Just restore the cars show us some how too's is what I'd like .

He was humble in the early shows but seemed to get a bit self absorbed in later shows... I like his show bc he is not afraid to cut up anything, but he is much more of an artist than car builder; not hating on him just saying. I love watching his show purely because of his lack of concern when it comes to chopping something up and welding something else up.

As car shows go; Bitchin rides, full custom garage, Jay Leno, car fix, hotrod garage and roadkill are my favorites. I just started watching four wheeler as well, watched it back in the day but just found it again. I am not a big off road fan but I like the engineering and building.
 
another vote for full custom garage. the show is more like a no nonsense shop class than a TV show. I have seen every one of them and i will actually watch them over again because I see things I missed the first time. that to me is quality tv. if GYC were structured and produced the same way it would be an awesome show
 
A show I love I believe is called Garage Dreams? I guess just old reruns. Its about car enthusiasts and why they are what they are. My favorite is the first episode and the first guy on there. He has a patina-ied 49 chevy he just loves to cruise around in and chill. Most people would not give it a second glance. Nothing fancy, just his "baby".

I recently got a nasty PM from one of the GYC cronies that "lurks" here...Dissing my GTX.....In the process that crony took a swipe at my father.....This is how these guys truly are in real life.....

Tony is biased because of a vendor/business relationship.....And why didn't he post that here?....... Only being concerned about their own egos and pockets is why they LURK here......

Prove me wrong lurking cronies? Where are your build threads? Where are your commentary in the GS and BT forums? What threads have you provided helpful and encouraging comments to the member base here? This is an active Mopar forum with people from all over the world with the same similar interest and we all help each other out in some way, shape, or form.......

The guy who sells his parts here as a known vendor. Whom is not a gold member nor a sponsoring vendor.....but wants us to support what?...lol....
