My first idea/task, and why I am posting, has anyone numbered/tagged/bar coded all their stuff and maybe organized it with photos etc, to help keep track and make it easier to find and sell when trying to wrap up projects or seeing downsizing on the horizon?
I've got like 3 semi's of stuff, much is new, some is really neat/rare, some I will never get to. Its nearly overwhelming, even when retired.

I wish I had that problem. Most all of my parts are attached to my car.

You are right it is a task that needs almost constant attention.
1.Try doing small blocks of similar items so you can keep track like interior, exterior, mechanical parts etc.
2. Group easy to ship items together.
3. Tackle some large items. That will give you the feeling of accomplishment and you’ll see big empty spaces.
You will find it’s handy to have an array of boxes, I’m able to stack some in the walk-up attic. Old newspaper was great for packing by crumpling up several pages together. That’s the old school way but of course used newspapers isn’t as easy to find nowadays.

Really you become your own shipping department!

Do some, take a break then repeat.
Good luck!

When I retired 2 years ago I started on my shop during the winter. I was able to get thru all of it and boxed and labeled most items.

It gets a lot easier when you retire because you have the time to stick with it and not trying to waste a weekend and feel like you didn't have
any time off from your job. Also a good comfortable shop chair and Spotify music helps.

Next winter I'm going to work on the home office
