I started watcing Top Gear UK a while ago and its a great show about fantasy supercars-and Euro cars-They measure the limits of the cars and races they do are borderline crazy budget wise.
As for Top Gear USA its not doing it for me as they arn't making fun of themselves.. The jokes and the races they do seem to mimic what top gear uk has done and just isnt as funny IMO.

I've never heard of those shows....but then I'm stuck in basic-cable land over here...hahaha

I've got to agree with Stuart, I've been watching Top Gear UK for a few years now...think the first one I saw they made limousines. If you go back and watch the first couple seasons it's not much better than the US version, the US episode where they take the old Caddy off-roading was pretty entertaining.
UK version is hilarious w/ their impression of the US; we're all infatuated with cheese and everyone that drives a Camaro is a murderer.

its the british humor i love I call it motor week meets monty python

I'm a huge fan of Top Gear UK, but like Moparstuart said, the US version just isn't as fun. I've still watched it, but it just isn't the same. I don't know if they need a better cast or what?!?!

US version does not carry the interesting personalities and interactions that hammond, jeremy, and james has... they truly are what makes the show... the US version seems so scripted, non-original and all but one of the drivers lacks appropriate credentials to tell me they can properly provide judgments on a car's ability. US sux.. UK rulez

How many times do I have to tell you guys not to agree with Stuart? Geez, it goes to his head and then there is no living with him.

I think the US version may come out ok if they dial it up a notch or three. Maybe they are just having the first season growing pains. I don't think they can overcome having to be more PC than the UK show. The UK version is totally irreverent and not worried about wounding anyones feelings. That can't happen here.

The US version will still not have the whit, or the english penchant for "understatement' that actually makes it funny! IE: "the motor runs a tad warm" whilst flames come from under the hood!

Have you seen the UK episode where they came to the U.S. and drove thru the south (nascar country ) and wrote nascar sucks all over there cars they were driving . I was rolling on the floor .

Im a fan of Top Gear UK but have not seen every season or episode. I have seen the USA-south one, and i really wish i knew which season/episode it was. It is so freaking funny i want to share it with everyone i know who likes cars.
If you know which episode could you please tell us?
