In a world of sh$tty news, I took this as a positive. I ordered 2 15x7 TTDs form a vendor on eBay, price keeps jumping up but I want another pair. When they arrived, I could see the box had changed to red/white/blue…and now had a little US flag on the left corner of a side face that said “Made in America”.

Upon opening, it is indeed true!

Hadn't heard about that. I suspect the huge disruption in the China supply chain has forced them to relocate production back to USA, hopefully

great news if true. but there was a city named USA in in good ol ching-ching. where many products are made and exported. I do hope this is true, and these wheels are indeed made in the one and only and Correct USA.

I hope they are cast & forged & machined here now too

American Racing Equipment (Wheels)
org. was in SF Calif. founded in 1956,
by Jim Ellison (who owned a small machine shop IN SF) & Tom Griffith
it was purchased "acquired" by
IIRC, Platinum Equity Investment group,
'from China', in June of 2005

I have no idea of late where they are made, cast, forged or machined
or who owns them or what country of origin
or if made in the USA (UNITED STATES OF AMERICA)
I doubt it's SF Ca. anymore, like the Original co. was

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After doing a tad bit of searching,
everything was saying imported, they are cast or forged in China,
shipped in containers to here & final machined here

I see an address/location of Contact Us | American Racing
Greenwood Village Co. 80111
on American Racing's official website
not sure what kind of place that is, whether it's an office
or a manufacturing facility

don't shoot the messenger

I hope it is now built in the real U.S.A.
maybe the supply chain stuff like mentioned above turned the tides

I've got some 15x10s ttd's that are chinese one piece,(says so on the back side) a pair of 15x7 and 16x8 polished ttd's that don't say where they are made, and a pair of tt2's that were definitely USA made, they are custom b.s. two piece.
So, i can't say where any of them are made if they don't say on the wheel.....

@junior340, those look excellent. Are they painted? If so, what paint did you use?
I've got six daisies and a pair of ansen five spokes that need some restoration, but I don't think I want to polish the rim part. I'm thinking of blast/paint.

Now made in Japan.

USA (宇佐市, Usa-shi) is a city located in Ōita Prefecture, Japan at the tip of Kunisaki Peninsula in northern Kyushu.

Be careful with the whole "made in USA". Yes, both Japan and China have named cities USA to be able to put that name on their products.

While I tend to agree some shenanigans may go on, but the outside of the box says made in America. I think they’d get in controversy quick if they weren’t made here.

They appear powder coated grey, over the whole wheel. I looks like to me they likely powder coat the whole wheel then machine the outer rim, hub mounting and lug holes.

I however, do love the wheels. Unfortunately, we cannot control where everything is made these day. I am also looking for a used set of TTD's or S200's for my Roached Runner. They just always come in such unusable back spacing for my vehicles.

Well, my 15x12 two piece are painted gray center, welded to a machined and polished hoop. Custom made, so definitely USA.
My 15x10s, China made, are just natural gray, with a machined lip.
Both are new wheels, I think junior340's are vintage.
