I have been having problems starting my car, Its a 440 automatic tranny with a mini starter, Thought the starter was sticking , so i just turned motor over a little to disengage starter gear. I have been doing this every once in a while last summer. Thought I would go ahead and fix it. Well its not the starter. Teeth have broke off torque converter gear. Can I fix this or do I have to buy another torque converter ?

Get a converter from Recon, and be done with it. They are good and inexpensive.

Flywheels have the gears pressed on but the converters are tack welded in place I think. In that case I'd do as stated above.
