Hi all I have a problem with my 904 tranny when i drive the car most of the time it slips into neutral for a sec it doesnt happen to much but i had take it to a tranny shop an they test drove it when they came back they said that when it shifts when in drive at say a stop light that from 1st to 2nd at 5mph to 2nd an from 2nd to drive at about 45 an that there maybe a vaulve stuck or a piece of metel stuck some where. Coukl there be something stuck in there or would it be the bands need to be ajusted or something.

First check fluid level, in Neutral with the engine idling and the vehicle on a flat surface. The bands in a torqueflite are for second gear and reverse. The front band is externally adjustable and is for second gear. Be sure that your TV rod is installed and adjusted correctly. This is not just for passing gear but controls internal line pressure as well relative to throttle opening. If it is too loose or disconnected you may not have sufficient line pressure to prevent slippage.
