63-65 is only ones that will work!Later years were larger housing and gears.

The speedometer cable end is a large diameter,it fills the hole in the case and is retained with a clamp (looks like a small distributor style clamp). The gear is separate and is retained with a clip .There is also a small seal for the gear and an o-ring seals the cable to the tailshaft housing.Do you have a speedometer cable? They are available aftermarket, gears are only found used as far as I know. RT

speedo cables and pinion mount are all one piece. i've seen cables on ebay. pinions are hard to find, expensive, and not a great selection. ratio reducers are also available to help bridge the pinion gap on lower geared cars, but they're not cheap either. if you opt for the ratio reducer the stock cable won't work so you need to think carefully about what you want to avoid wasting money. if you need a pic of a stock cable i can do that.

here's a pic of parts needed for a basic speedo cable. imperial services website has more details of the cable and ratio reducer.
