Transmission paint or not

Aluminum paint works well. It's gaudy at first cause it's so bright. But it will soon dull and look normal. If the car isn't in the weather, the natural aluminum is fine but doesn't last like the paint. I used no primer just clean it well with Prepsol. Sticks very well.

At one point I was told that black paint on the tranny will help to radiate heat and lower the transmissions temp....is this true or just B.S.?

Black will absorb more heat than a lighter paint but that shouldn't affect the ability to radiate heat away which is a function of the metal and the environment surrounding it. As long as there is a temperature gradient then heat will flow from hot to less hot. The more the gradient the greater the flow up to a point. Not sure what practical application that has as it only hits up when under load and cools relatively fast when not. If heat is a problem then most will have a way to cool it.

Thanks. This is probably what I will do.

Just my two cents.......brighter colors such as the stainless steel or aluminum will help in finding and or noticing early any slow leaks compared to black etc.
