Tuning a 1406 Edelbrock Carb with Bog

I ran my car for a few minutes to make sure the fuel bowls were filled up and then pumped my accelerator pump linkage and to no surprise, no fuel came out of the accelerator pump nozzles. Not even a little bit. So it looks like it's probably a bad accelerator pump. Is it possible that the accelerator pump chamber isn't filling up because the floats aren't set up right or is there another passageway to the pump reservoir that could be clogged?
To swap the pump out, the top has to come off so check it at that point but I doubt they are that far off to cause no fuel to get into the pump well.

When you have your top off, check your float adjustment. My float levels were way off before I rebuilt them but even having them right, after a couple of months the blue pumps started to fail.

Not likely. Most likely the pump cup is simply worn, much like worn piston rings. Replace the cup (pump) and your bogging problem will disappear.

Anybody watch the video link I posted?

Update on the car: I put the 1467 accelerator pump and could see the fuel pumping out of the nozzles. Took it for a ride and it performed a lot better, but I still noticed a slight bog. Went back in and pulled the yellow step up springs (thought they were blue before but they were the yellow ones) and replaced them with the pink ones and wow, night and day difference. That 318 is now a tire burning machine. Instant acceleration now. Should have done this a long time ago!

Good to hear. I need to mess more with my 600 on my 273. There's more in there.

Thanks for the update. Combination of both doesn't surprise me. Now go easy on those tires! Lol
