As a retired aircrew member, I understand a lot about Temps, P.A., Barometric pressures, etc. etc. and how it deals with aircraft performance. But as a general driver situation, I currently live at almost Sea Level and will be moving to a location that's 5,000ft MSL. I know that the vehicles will run richer, but by how much? I'm sure that some re-jetting will be involved but how drastic of a change will it really be? Thanks

Slightly smaller jet size??? Just a WAG... I remember there were different calibrations for Colo. etc., but cant remember what they were.

i'd use 1% of jet area change per 1000ft of altitude change to get in the ball park. generally speaking 4% in jet area change is considered a step. holleys are supposed to be 2% change per jet number. carter type carbs are a little more complicated. i figure the area of the jet, minus metering rod area, and multiply the percentage of change i want.

You Hoosiers!!!!! So go from 84 down to 81-82 .. I haven't been involved in dealership tech bulletins since the late70's-early 80's(thank God)...Now it's all computers..
