turn park lights on and reverse light comes on

new rear light ,dash and engine harness. 1970 Bee I unplug wiper harness-slot c/d are reverse lighting from 4spd. So how does a reverse light come on when park light comes on? slot c gos strait to rear lights no breaks and d slot gos to radio,what am I not seeing? Thanks for any help

Mercy, it appears it DOES go to the wiper wiring. That's weird?

Pull the bulbs, disconnect the harness at the A pillar, put a meter on the Ohm x 1 scale and check between the reverse light hot wire (purple I believe) and the park light wire. Sounds like they're shorted together in your new harness.

If no short shown, put the bulbs back one at a time and pay great attention to any defective contacts or stray wires out of same.

Is there a difference in intensity between when the paring lights are on and when the car is actually in reverse (ground issue)? Does the reverse light work properly when the car is in reverse and parking lights are off? If you put the car in reverse with the parking lights off, do the parking lights come on?

It was a ground issue,I believe paint build up on pass side tail light. I put a ground on the pass reverse light and it helped a little,driver side got brighter but when I grounded the tail light housing all worked. Guess I will see tomorrow if it is still all good.
