My flashers are very fast, i have checked the bulbs and both left and right flash fast.
Someone told me that there are 2 types of flasher switches (heavy duty and regular) and that perhaps the wrong flasher switch is in?

Any validity to this comment?:homework:

If you are sure all bulbs in the turn signal circuits are working, two in the tail lamps and one up front, each side, I would recommend an electronic version of the standard two pronged flasher. A few bucks more than the old school version but they will have a constant flash rate not dependent on circuit load or the integrity of the electro-mechanical internal flasher components.

i will double check the rear bulbs in the tail lamps...not sure if i paid attention to 2 bulb per side. if so, where did you get the electronic version? any modifications??

i checked...all bulbs working-picked up the flasher relay and will put in tomorrow.

Fast flash

djais1801 My GTX does the same fast flash. You bought the flasher and were going to install. Did it make a difference?

Usually just going to the HD flasher (long one) will take care of it.

When people change their turnsignal or taillight bulbs they use 1157 when the car originally came with 1034 it will make a difference in how fast they flash.

I can't speak for the OP's 1971 Model car but here are the specs for 1977 Chryslers and Cordoba:

Headlights: (2) 41000 & (2) 4001 (2) 6014
Front: Park & Turn Signal (2) 1157 NA all
Rear: Tail, Stop & Turn Signal (4) or (6) 1157 all
Back up (2) 1156 all
Optional cornering (2) 1156

the side marker lights are all 168 including license plate and the opera lamp is a 756.
