I have a 68 roadrunner where the turn signals will not self cancel after a turn. I'm pretty sure the cam is broken but am having trouble finding it since I don't know what it looks like. The signals themselves work just fine. I've had the cam break once already and had it replaced by a mechanic. It looks like it broken again. Can someone tell me if I can just buy a more durable cam? and where exactly is it located?

buy a new complete switch....easier and they ain't all that expensive...

I have a 69 bee.same problem.ord one from classic industries.package said it was made in Argentina if I remember right.its held up well so far.wasnt too bad to put on I just bought a cheap wheel puller kit and the rest is fairly easy.the wires do not come with the connector - you have to pull the old wires out of the pin connector - just go slow and watch where each one goes.just read your post again.switch is under steering wheel.it must be pulled to change it.a more durable switch would be a used one or nos if you could find one.

I bought one of Classic Ind. Switches for 114 bucks, it did not work right. The brake lights did not light when the turn signal was on. So I got one from slant six Dan on this site and others. I paid 93 bucks, and his are made by the same company that made them originally. I can't tell it from the original.

When you say easier, how much? I'm not opposed to just replacing the cam instead of the whole switch if it's not a huge PITA.

didn't you say you have already had the cam replaced? how often do you wanna keep doing this? Replacing the entire switch with a new one takes maybe an hour of yer time...installing a new cam on old switch may cause you to be doing this again in the near future....

but it seems you have yer mind set on just the cam...just remember, you asked what to do, we answered....

You're right. I was thinking that the cam was the weakness and never even thought the switch was making it worse . I'll change the switch and see what goes from here.
