Unknown light on '71 dash

'71 Superbee. None of the illumination lights on the dash work, I get turn signals and high-beam indicators, so maybe a fuse. My question is regarding a light above the heater controls that almost just looks like someone drilled a hole in the dash, but there is a light in there and I see the hole on other dash consoles that people post. Any idea what this light is/does?

There really is no light above the heater controls, only the two on either side of the control illuminate it.

See the arrow in the pic. This isn't mine, but that's where the hole is. I've seen it on a ton of pics.

Definitely looks like an aftermarket alarm light.

I had a shorted socket take out my dash lights. A bulb got pushed in without realizing that the contact in the base of the socket had popped up and that got jammed against the side of the socket shorting the circuit.
