I'm stoked! I have done the prep work on my wife's 65 421 Tri-power GTO and tuned the a/f mix on the idle screws on the three Holley carbs on my Roadrunner, as well as checking the timing on my 440.
I just had a 4.10 installed to replace my 3.54 in my Dana 60, the Passon a855 installed in September to replace my 18 spline a833 ushered in the ability to go to the higher gear without the negative impact of a 4.10 on the highway. I'm really curious to see how my gear swap affects my 1/4 mile time and speed. Last year I ran 13.35 at 106. I'm hoping that the gear swap and me doing my part to drive it to the best of my ability will get me into the 12s. Sunday I'll find out. I'm bringing a Samsung Gear 360 camera this year to post video to YouTube, and I have a couple of GoPro cameras I'm bringing this year too.
I'll post results in this thread Sunday or Monday.
I know you guys are way more active racers than I am right now, and many of you have much faster rides, but I enjoy posting here and asking questions too because that's a good way to go from racing once a year to once or twice or more per month, and from running 13s to running 10s, or faster...
Thanks guys!

The videos should be pretty cool too.
If I get into the 12s, I would need surgery to remove my smile.
Thanks.

Good luck. A 440 with a 6bbl should fall into the 12's. Looking forward to the videos and pics.

It should be, probably before the ring and pinion swap, but traction right off the line has been a problem. The 315/35/17 Toyo Proxes TQ drag radials helped, a lot, last year. With the TA radials I couldn't floor it at any speed in 1st with the 3.54s without smoking the tires. Last year I could come off the line close to idle and stand on it with no problem, so that helped. Not enough time to install a line lock so I can put some heat in the tires, but that is high up on "the list". If I could be more aggressive off the start I'm sure that would help my ET.
I think the new 4.10 is going to be especially beneficial to MY ET because of my having to be gentle off the start. The RPMs will climb a lot faster without having to get "perfect slight wheelspin" which is really hard to duplicate, and that should make a big difference in my 60 ft. times for now.

...no question it would help. Sticky tires are important in finding the car's true potential. Your MPH looks like it should propel your RR to 12's, but not without a good 60' time. You should shoot for a 1.80 something as a starting point. What was the 60' time on the 13.35 pass?

(Self edited) $HIT! PI$$ F_CK! RAAAAAHHH!
I had my front end safety checked and aligned this morning in preparation for Sunday. I had one really loose bolt on the steering box, and the other slightly loose. Got that fixed and a very well done and noticeably improved front end alignment.
Almost home and the clutch won't disengage ....
I was able to make the short distance home ok. I can now attest to the high functionality of the synchros in my a855. Up on jackstands and remove the inspection cover. I can see 2 of my 3 pressure plate fingers on my 2 year old McLeod street strip unit and one of them is about 1/3 or so inches away from the throwout bearing vs being (almost) on it like the other one I can see.
:wtf:
Jumped on the phone with Jamie Passon and he says that's why my clutch won't disengage.
I have a new McLeod diaphragm style pressure plate coming overnight via UPS from Summit. So between dawn and hopefully by dark I have to remove my driveshaft, a855, old pressure plate, install the new one and put it all back together in time to make the 1 hour drive to the track Sunday morning.
It's like Yoda says: "Do or do not...there is no try"...

I got as far as taking the transmission out. Had about 1 more hour before dark, and working on the ground at night in the swamp outside.....
The flying teeth (gnats/no seeums) blessed me around 3. My skin feels like it's on fire from them. Mosquitoes are next around sunset and for an hour or 2 after.
Not going to happen...:BangHead::mad::(

No pic's,,,,,,,,,mo vids:(:xscuseless:
This morning is track day!
Roadrunner not going to make it, as I said, due to the pressure plate failure. I only got as far as pulling the 855 out yesterday.
We are going, and we're bringing the 1965 421 Tri-power GTO. I'll post some links.

My wife rode shotgun for the 1st and 2nd 1320 pass in the 421 Tri-power 4 speed GTO. My 1st run was 14 flat, about 1/2 second better than last year, so I was enthusiastic about the improvement, figuring the Drag Radial was going to stick. Came right back around for 2nd pass, a little more aggressive off the start and...tire spin in 1st, so I lifted slightly and then stood on it...POP! I believe that I broke something in the original OPEN rear end on the GTO, so I'm about to go back with the trailer to pick it up from the track.
Actually, best case scenario is the rear end because now we have an "excuse" to get the 9" Ford based Currie rear axle with the posi chunk. :)
Pix and video links along with more posts tonight.

Bump for updated pix and videos added.
I hope you like them.
Did you get your clutch pressure plate ?
& disc., the throw-out bearing etc.
I hope you do all 3, PITA to go back after the fact
also make sure the flywheel is not burnt etc.

Cool videos too, thanks for sharing

I can't wait to see your RR too...

Clutch disc and Throwout bearing are 2 years old, with maybe 2,000 miles on it. Flywheel is new billet steel "heavy rod" unit from Brewer's this September.
Going to finish at my friend's garage at his house, on a lift.
