I’m looking to remove the upper door belt trim moldings on my 69 charger do they just pop off or are they screwed in? What’s the best way to take them off without damaging also has that rivet in the back piece should I drill that out thanks again

The door trim, look for a stud and net on the ends, otherwise the rest of the clips are spring clips and trim just pops off with a large screwdriver under it.

The quarter panel pieces are different, they are screwed on, need to remove the car whiskers and the interior panels to access the screws. Big job. The river is a dummy filling the hole so leave it there.

Thanks to remove the rear trim can the back window stay in or do I have to take it out

You can get decent panel/trim removal tools from Harbor Freight. Better than a screwdriver in my opinion. It's easy to damage that trim. Also you should cover the paint with something like body tape. Save the clips.

Thanks I have a few of those plastic tools to take moldings off I’m removing them to get the car painted

You can try the plastic ones but get the metal set too. You don't want to scratch anything or dent that trim. I've had to fix it and it'a a pain in the ***.

How did you get on ?

I need to remove the same trim on a cuda door.

How much leverage force did you have to apply ?

Cheers

In my charger the the nut at the end of the door you need to remove and I have a small plastic tool and just go under where you feel a clip and lightly pull upwards and they will pop up one at a time I got mine out without any issues

Cheers mate, e bodies doors have the same nut at end of door. I brought new clips so not to worried if if break the odd clip but in saying that I love using original parts so will be careful . definitely don't want to damage trim..
Wil have a crack at it today.
