vacuum hose

I have a 66 Dodge Coronet 440. Does anyone know if it matters how long the vacuum hose needs to be going from the carbueretor to the distributor? We shorted ours so it would not be in the way of other things and took about 4 inches off. :yes:

I am going to say that it is not going to make a difference. Have you experienced any issues with it after shortening it? If so, there may be issues at the carb or dist.
