Since I've never worked on a Mopar what's the deal on the valley pans? I've seen embossed valley pans for sale by themselves, seen them with 4 paper gaskets. How should they be installed, with or without paper gaskets? Do different aftermarket intakes require different methods? Please enlighten me

I can tell you here is what NOT to buy -after market

The stock bath tub is the way to go gasket depend on your set up I run stealth heads and rpm manifold and only use Permatex #2 sealant. the stock pan has ridges that flatten out to provide a seal.

Hard to tell but stock tub in use.

the paper gaskets are used to seal a steel pan when used with an aluminum intake.torque for the aluminum intake is much less then the factory cast ones,so you need a paper backing to get a good seal.

Good answer, i as well us the stock bathtub style, with 4 paper facing gaskets. Excellant sealing. And for the ends. A set of billit straps from 440 source

Thanks, makes sense. So you're saying that the orig cast iron intake would most likely just use embossed pan by it self and alum intake would probably use embossed pan with thin gaskets, correct?
